Lawrencia Annan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). She has gained several years of practical experience in medical laboratory diagnostics and is currently pursuing an MPhil in Clinical Microbiology at KNUST. Her research interests lie in reproductive health microbiology, with a specific focus on vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC). Her ongoing research examines the epidemiology of VVC among women of childbearing age, aiming to characterize the Candida species involved and explore the factors contributing to recurrent infections. This work seeks to inform more effective treatment strategies and improve clinical management of VVC in resource-limited healthcare settings. Lawrencia is dedicated to translating laboratory research into practical solutions that support women’s health and contribute to evidence-based medical practice.
